social reality

By "social reality," I refer to the matrix of opinions held by members of a human society, those who live by consent or by necessity in communion with each other.
The sum total of these human opinions produces a honeycomb restricting all actions to the form of the comb. Bees must fly in free air, however, or no honey can be produced.
Social reality thus includes not only a formed matrix but free flight. Hive workers prefer and need the former while honey gatherers see the necessity of free flight. These "conservative" and "liberal" preferences are both essential to the functioning of the hive. Bees seem to "get" this. Humans often do not.
By the way (a not inconsequential byway), each human is both a hive worker and a honey gatherer.
