“In the beginning was the Word...” (John 1:1)
“The name that can be named is not the eternal name...”
(Tao Te Ching)
An apparent paradox. But wait!
The Word reverberates. Re-verb-erates.
“I seem to be a verb” (Buckminster Fuller).
The name puts a lid on it. Hides it. Object-ifies it.
Nouns it. It becomes re-noun-ed. Thus it can be re-nunc-iated.
In the beginning was the Word.
In the beginning.
Jesus’ disciples said: Tell us the end.
Jesus said: The place of the beginning is the place of the end.
When you stand at the beginning, you will know the end and never die.
The Word that can be worded is not the eternal Word.
The Word that can be named is not the eternal Name.
