Fathoming the Deep

God's ground and our ground are the same ground says Meister Eckhart. No, no, you may say. My ground is so much smaller, is rooted in a social being, is a selfie. No, no, I say. Our ground is fathomless. No matter how long a fathom line we cast into its depths, we cannot sound a bottom. Any bottom we discover is a self-created bound, a false bottom. God's ground and our ground are the same ground -- an expansive interflow with no bounds. "Deep calls unto deep."
