Symbolism of the Cross Mandala
The Divine (the Above) descends into the world and below to the depths. Where the Divine enters the world (the horizontal line of time), agony results -- the agony of birth and life and death. This is crucifixion -- being nailed to the cross (the intersection) of space and time. Not only do we feel this, so does the Divine. No separation exists.
In the mandala, the cross of crucifixion is encircled. This circle represents the continuous expansiveness of rebirth (the expansiveness of continuous rebirth). This is our journey. We are crucified on the cross of space and time while encircled by the Love and Power of the Divine, who continues embodying as humans and as all creation, experiencing the joy and the agony firsthand.
The cross mandala is a symbolic representation of our journey.
