Mama
My Mama always had a close relationship with God. She would read her Bible every morning (she wore out many Bibles this way) alongside her cup of coffee. We were engaged in this ritual one morning in August '98 (I have a note in the margin of my Bible "God's Tattoo's -- Mom") when she came to stay with me and my deceased wife Amy at our Mountainaire home for a while.
"God's tattoo's?" I asked. She directed me to a passage in Isaiah 49: "(T)hey may forget, yet wiil I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands."
We chuckled and sipped our coffee.
I love my Mama.
