shape shifter

As a psycho therapist, I found it necessary to be a shape shifter, to adopt the other person's conceptual-emotional stance (while retaining my own). This is more than just "listening." This is transformation. I received my initial practice in shape shifting as a child when I adopted the conceptual-emotional stance of the universe. We merged. Admittance of such a thing in past centuries put you in direct risk and probable occurrence of death. Nothing other than a rigidly bound view of "reality" was accepted (this is still true to a large extent).
I found in my life training that the true martial artists, healing artists, spiritual artists were shape shifters, all following the same principles and practices: maintain your own core ("sit in the seat at the center of your soul") while opening to the core of others (human and non-human others). This is true life. All is in relationship. Consciousness states with crusted over scabs of exclusion are coffins holding the already dead.
