Yes, I remember the coal powered locomotive beasts that came belching dark smoke and spewing cinders through the neighborhoods, dirtying newly hung wash; their pressured steam forcing the long huge pistons to turn the wheels; and our job as children to walk the tracks and pick up fallen coal from the coal car attached behind the engine, for burning in the grates of our home fire places. A simpler time.
