myth

Journal 12/2/11
Without myth, life makes no sense. We are just animals of a peculiar nature who live and die. When we feel embedded in a larger story, a great adventure, we come alive. And yet, we cannot choose a myth. The myth must choose us. We must be possessed by it, not have it in our handy drawer of myths we can pull out and choose. When we choose a myth, we will, when tested later, unchoose it. We are just an animal with a fantasy. When myth chooses us, we are white hot, afire.
