learned tome

Why should I write a learned tome when a paragraph will do?
For example, instead of a referenced and footnoted book on Cosmic Theology, I write:
We are the Cosmos embodying. We are the forefront of the wave of expansion from the Big Bang (which I prefer to call the Big Orgasm). We are the Cosmos itself cosmos-ing. We do not know what occurred before the Bang event. It is Mystery. Mystery gave rise to the Cosmos. In theology, this Mystery is called God. The Cosmos is God godding. We are God godding. When we do not believe this or know this, we separate ourselves. In theological language, this separation is called "sin." When we do not separate ourselves, we are "saved." We are the Cosmos cosmosing. When we get out of our little separate selves and move with this, we are moving with the wisdom of the Cosmos, of God, of the Source of our Being. We are dancing with the Tao.
Now that wasn't so hard, was it?
Why should I write a learned tome when a paragraph will do?
