Words create images -- ripplings within the mind. We fall prey to those imagings. We pray to those imagings. In this sense, everyone is religious, praying to and with the imagings of our mind as the ripplings passing through as words are sounded. (We even say we are of sound mind.) What is behind, beyond the words?
Words are shapings and forms of breath. Thinking is the mind breathing to itself. This is "small" breathing. When we are quiet and open, "large" breathing occurs. When words arise within large breathing, they come from neither place nor no place. [Place is a temporary stop of the mind. Place is a pause in breathing.] We are being breathed and when we listen, we hear (and see) words forming and dissolving. We are these words. We are the Living Word forming and dissolving.
