spirituality

For me, "spirituality" is an outmoded concept. The term is far too general, gathers too much beneath its tent, with a resultant loss of meaning. "Spirituality" came in vogue to replace the concept of "religion" and thus shed the thorny area of doctrinal disputes. Later, "spirituality" began to be replaced by "spiritual intelligence" (my son Phil and I did a well-received workshop on that at a national convention in pre-Katrina New Orleans). The term I prefer now is "consciousness." Consciousness is foundational to us all. It has no precursors, no pre-suppositions. Consciousness IS. Spirituality adds a layer or layers. I'm hanging with consciousness. Of course, you will do what you will. You can be as spiritual as you want and as religious as you want. As for me, I am interested in being conscious.
