Possession

3:45 a.m. Woke with these words reverberating in my consciousness: "If any man ask for your cloak give him your coat also." I got up, came over here, sat down. The words of Jesus, of course, recorded in Luke 6. Possessions. Possessed by our possessions. Like being possessed by demons. "My precious! Mine!" Possession. Possessed. Warped. Twisted.
I remember when my possessions were burned in a barn fire where I had them stored during a divorce. All of a sudden I was unpossessed. Not only relationship wise, but also by physical stuff. I remember standing at first shocked, then bursting forth with laughter. Standing naked in the universe once again. Exorcised. Unpossessed.
Clinging is folly. Possession is all in the mind.
