the unprofound

I make my writings on my understandings of being a human in this cosmos as simple as possible. For example: The core principles and practices of the martial, healing, and spiritual arts are the same three: 1. centering, 2. opening, 3, radiance. If I took that one sentence and rattled on and on with abstract terminology, endless exploration of historical minutiae, ventures into related but side canyons of thought, and citations and quotes from Greek and Latin sources (all of which I could do), my writings would be regarded as profound. I follow the rule I was given, however: "write so that those who read may run and that those who run may read." Brief. To the point. You either get it or you don't get it as you run by. You are either energized by it and sped with even more energy on your way or you are not. I do my part. You do yours.

  1. George, I find your writings profound and readably concise. That trait keeps me returning to your blog. Thank you for your posts.

  2. There's another geezer who followed the same philosophy a few years back: Lao Tze.
