nothing is hidden

When we hear, we hear the meaning of words. When we see, we see the hidden depths beyond appearance. Hence the meaning of the saying: "Let those who have ears hear, and those with eyes see." Nothing is hidden. It is we ourselves who become obtuse. We listen without hearing. We look without seeing. This is remediable.

We cannot have new understanding without new essence. When we keep the same old essentiality, we keep the same old understanding. Hence the old Zen saying: "How many times must one jump on a pogo stick?"
